The Vango Scafell 200 is a lightweight 2 person backpacking tent designed for campers, hikers and adventurers who want an excellent balance of space, weight and reliable performance. Weighing just 2.5kg, it packs plenty of practical features into a compact design that’s quick and straightforward to pitch.

Using two identical PowerLite Alloy Poles, the Scafell 200 offers a simple pitching system and an impressive space-to-weight ratio. In addition, Vango’s TBS® II Tension Band System adds extra stability when conditions become more challenging.

Inside, there’s good headroom for a compact trekking tent, while the front-facing porch provides useful space for boots, packs and other equipment. With a pitching time of approximately five minutes, it’s a practical choice for backpacking, hiking and multi-day adventures.

Lightweight PowerLite Alloy Poles

Vango uses premium 7001-T6 aluminium for the PowerLite Alloy Poles, helping to keep the overall weight down while providing the structural strength needed for outdoor adventures.

The simple two-pole construction also makes pitching quicker and easier, which is particularly useful when you’re moving between campsites.

Protex 70D 3,000mm Flysheet

The Protex 70D polyester flysheet provides reliable protection from wet weather while keeping weight to a minimum. With a 3,000mm hydrostatic head, it offers dependable waterproof performance for camping and backpacking trips.

The durable 70-denier polyester fabric weighs just 68g/m², while fully factory-taped seams help prevent water from entering through the stitching. Furthermore, the fabric is fire retardant and meets ISO 5912 requirements.

TBS® II for Added Stability

Vango’s TBS® II Tension Band System provides additional internal bracing when conditions become more challenging. The adjustable tension bands help reinforce the tent’s structure, improving stability in changing weather.

When the extra support isn’t required, you can simply adjust the system to suit the conditions.

Comfortable Two-Person Interior

The breathable polyester inner allows condensation to pass through the fabric, helping to create a more comfortable sleeping environment.

Meanwhile, the bathtub-style groundsheet extends approximately 10cm up the inner tent walls, creating an additional barrier against rain and moisture at ground level.

Internal storage pockets also provide a convenient place for smaller essentials, helping you keep the sleeping area organised.

Front Porch for Camping Equipment

A front-facing porch gives the Vango Scafell 200 useful additional storage outside the sleeping compartment. It’s ideal for keeping walking boots, backpacks and other outdoor equipment close by without taking up valuable sleeping space.

The design also provides good headroom, helping make the compact two-person tent more comfortable when settling into camp.

Quick to Pitch and Pack Away

Once it’s time to pack away, Vango’s Fast Pack Tent Bag features an oversized, wide top opening to make getting the tent back into its bag quicker and easier.
