As a result, it suits everything from low-and-slow smoking to high-heat searing.

This Onyx Edition model features more than 6,503cm² of cooking space, which provides enough room to cook for larger groups with ease. Pit Boss states that the grill can handle approximately 55 burgers at once, making it ideal for parties, family gatherings, and weekend barbecue sessions.

Pit Boss Austin XL Onyx Edition with PID Temperature Control

The Austin XL Onyx Edition uses an advanced PID control board, which helps maintain accurate cooking temperatures throughout longer cooks. The system adjusts automatically while allowing temperature selection in 5-degree increments between 82°C and 260°C. Therefore, you can smoke, roast, bake, grill, braise, or barbecue with greater consistency and control.

For direct grilling, the integrated Flame Broiler™ Lever allows access to open flame cooking with temperatures reaching up to 535°C. Consequently, you can switch quickly from indirect smoking to direct flame searing for steaks, burgers, and other high-heat cooking.

The grill includes a large 13.6kg pellet hopper, which supports extended cooking sessions without frequent refilling. Meanwhile, the hopper cleanout system helps make pellet changes and maintenance easier. Two included meat probes connect directly to the controller, allowing you to monitor food temperatures accurately during cooking.

The Onyx Edition also features a sleek matte black finish, side shelf with tool hooks, sturdy wheels for mobility, and porcelain-coated cooking racks for durability. Because of its versatile design, this grill works well for both everyday outdoor cooking and larger smoking projects.
