Dometic’s new Portico Canopy is a genius solution for stopping the rain from coming into the caravan without going to the hassle of putting up an awning. The canopy is very quick to pitch and is cleverly designed to be resilient against the elements, be it wind or rain. The canopy uses Dometic’s rigid Air Frame design and is inflated via a single inflation point.
The Portico simply slides into the awning rail and has a decent width of 180cm. The lip of the canopy comes out 50cm which is enough to cover any habitational door. The door will not catch the roof of the canopy thanks to the design of the Air Frame and how it presses against the caravan. Optional storm straps are recommended when using the 180 S as it helps to add more stability to the canopy.
As the base of the Portico can slide into a draught skirt rail or merely peg into the ground it doesn’t really matter what vehicle you are putting the Door canopy on, the only main requirement is that you have a rail which will allows a 6mm Kador beading to slide in (this is normally all caravans and only some motorhomes).
The Dometic Portico Air 180 S is a cracking option for the camper who wants just that little bit extra of a canopy without going to the extent of awning.

Single Point Inflation
Since Kampa launched the first inflatable caravan awnings onto the market in 2013, their Kampa AIR system has led the way, allowing fast, easy set-up with their Single Point Inflation method. That’s just one external inflation valve to blow-up all of the supporting AirPoles and beams for the entire awning or tent – unlike having to inflate individual air-beams via separate inflation points as with other manufacturers’ systems. For pack-away, quick-release deflation valves make the job equally easy.
Limpet Ready
This product is compatible with Kampa’s optional Limpet Fix System which lets you attach the rear wall of your Kampa awning to the smooth outer wall of your caravan using innovative suction pads – ‘Limpets’ – fitted through pre-punched holes.
SabreLink Ready
Means that this product is designed for attachment of Kampa’s optional SabreLink lighting system. SabreLink lets you attach linkable 12V LED lighting strips, with 150 LEDs per strip, above the walls of your Air or Poled Kampa awning or tent. Up to 3 strips can be linked together, with each set adjustable via an on/off/dimmer remote control.
