From the Travel Smart Range of Air Awnings, the Quest Hydra is an excellent mid-sized motorhome/campervan drive-away awning that is amazingly easy to use, erect and live with. Utilising the Air Erect System makes the Hydra awning incredibly easy and quick to pump up, plus making it reliable and durable too. With approximately 10 pumps on the supplied high-capacity hand-pump, each tube is inflated to the perfect air pressure and ready to use. Just two tubes provide the awning with the framework, so there is very little to do once you've found your perfect pitch position. Construction from HydroTech SL materials means that this product is extremely lightweight and easy to carry, store, use and manoeuvre. The fast-drying material also helps should you need to pack the awning away wet - simply hang the awning up once home to dry the awning out.
HydroTech SL is UV-coated to help prevent damage from the sun and prolongs the life of your new awning. The addition of an access door in the rear awning tunnel allows you to enter and exit the awning without walking through the main living area - perfect when you return with wet clothes or muddy boots!
The extra-large front entrance can be rolled up or used to produce a front sun canopy, with optional canopy poles. The panel incorporates a large clear-view window with internal privacy blinds and has a large, covered airflow ventilation panel which helps to keep the awning fresh and airy whatever the weather. Both side panels have large side windows, both with externally zipped privacy blinds, which can easily be rolled up to let the light in. Each window has a full mesh panel within the top half and clear view superclear transparent foil on the bottom half, so you can enjoy fresh air or complete privacy.
The rear tunnel access door has a secondary mesh ventilation panel and a roll-back door further improves ventilation. The rear of the awning can be closed up and the tunnel rolled back when you are off-site, saving your pitch and keeping your camping gear protected from the elements.

Air Erect System
The Air Erect System (AES) is the latest in air tube technology - a simplified air erect system that makes it simple to use and has less to go wrong. The system uses three layers of strength and stability. The internal bladder (the inflated tube) is enclosed in an outer PE cover that adds protection to the bladder and aids stability. The outermost sleeve is sewn directly to your awning and adds the final layer of protection, giving the bladder its shape and stability. The Air Erect System also benefits from an extra-reinforced PE cover which makes the cover stronger and more durable, particularly around the corners and bends where the materials are at their most stressed - keeping the materials supported and held in the correct position once inflated.
The AES has individual air tubes, rather than a joined system, which makes each tube extremely easy to pump up and, in the event of a failure, only one tube is affected. It also utilises an easy-to-use single-way valve for inflation.
Anti-Weather System
The Anti-Weather System isn't just one item, but a host of improvements that together offer superb weather protection. There are additional weather panels sewn directly into the canvas at strategic points where the weather could penetrate. These panels are PU-coated on both surfaces and then reinforced, taped and sealed on both sides, giving extra protection against water and wind penetration.
All zips and windows have extra external guttering, offering even more weather protection. Additionally, all tie-back points and pockets that are sewn onto the awning are made from 100% waterproof PVC, rather than standard webbing materials used on inferior products. Standard materials can allow water to soak in during extended periods of wet weather, eventually leading to leaking. Waterproof PVC simple doesn't allow for water to soak in - it simply slides off, preventing any water ingress.
HydroTech SL Fabric
The latest in high-tech lightweight awning fabrics, HydroTech SL is a UV-Coated 190T Polyester fabric giving the materials extra protection from the sun's UV rays and extending the life of the product. The materials are extremely lightweight, making them incredibly easy to handle, particularly when storing and transporting your awning. HydroTech SL also dries incredibly quickly and does not soak up rainwater - very important should you need to take the awning down when wet. The fabric can be dried at home on the washing line, if necessary, before storing. This also makes the HydroTech SL fabric simple to clean and easy to live with.
